Hello! My name is Vanessa van der Pol, and I am a newly graduated Special Events Manager from George Brown College.

All my life I enjoyed planning events, however, that is not what I first went to school for. My first attempt at college was to become a Healthcare Technology Specialist. However, I did not have the same passion or interest in the technology field that I do for events!

After leaving Durham College for Healthcare Technology Management, I took a few months to find what I was truly passionate about. What I kept landing on was the Special Events Management program at George Brown College. I decided to enroll, and was lucky enough to get accepted.

Since my time in college I have learned so much and gained more experience in the past two years than I ever expected.

I became the Events Manager of a Resort and soon was offered a position at Toronto's Casa Loma for my internship. Upon completion of my internship, I was hired as one of Casa Loma's full-time event staff.
